Safety and Service are at the foundation of our "modis operandi" and is at the forefront of all training and expeditions that we conduct. Adventure Training & Expeditions does everything it can to ensure their training is as realistic as possible and that their expeditions are challenging, exciting and adventurous to develop leadership, team work, independent thinking and problem solving. We do all this without compromising on safety or service.

Foreign & Commonwealth Office Partner

Adventure Training & Expeditions works in partnership with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office's (FCO) Know Before You Go campaign to help ensure that all of our overseas expeditions stay safe overseas. We also promote this safe travel to all British travellers going overseas and  advise them to check out the FCO website at www.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo. It is packed with essential travel advice and tips, and up-to-date country information.

 

Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA)

The Activity Centres (Young Persons' Safety) Act 1995 and the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations 2004 make it a legal requirement for providers of certain adventure activities for young people to undergo an inspection of their safety management systems and hold a licence. Adventure Training & Expeditions is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (part of the HSE) to conduct walking expeditions. DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP)

Adventure Training & Expeditions is a DofE approved provider of Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions and works closely with DofE Head Office and Operating Authorities throughout the country to ensure that the training we provide is appropriate and that our expeditions meet the DofE expedition requirements.

 

Insurance

Adventure Training & Expeditions is insured by Campbell Irvine Insurance to deliver training and expeditions both in the UK and overseas with Public Liability Insurance of up to £5,000,000.

 

DofE Unit Leader Training

From our many years of experience we are able to provide Expedition Leadership Training, Risk Management Training and Expedition First Aid Training ensuring that current and best practice is being employed by Unit Leaders. We have trained many Unit Leaders and maintain a good working relationship post training offering guidance and advice when required.

 

Qualifications

As a small family run business we are very proud of the reputation for service, safety, integrity and honesty that we have built up and work hard to ensure that our instructors/Leaders continue to maintain this reputation. All of our instructors have experience in delivering DofE training and expeditions and all hold the appropriate National Governing Body qualifications For the terrain that the expedition takes place on. In addition to this all of our instructors have undertaken DofE Induction Training and many are Accredited Assessors.

 

CRB

All Adventure Training & Expedition staff have Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau checks carried out on them.

 

First Aid

All of our instructors have attended first aid training courses enabling them to deal with life threatening situations to the more common injuries encountered on expedition and  are qualified first aiders.

Adventure Training & Expeditions are members of the Expedition Care Program faculty and has it's own HSE approved Expedition First Aid training team ensuring that all training is current and in line with the latest emergency protocols.

All participants who are trained by us receive training from our First Aid training team.

We offer a number of First Aid training courses that participants can use towards the skills section of the DofE award.
